Accommodation Recommendations

At Hawthorne House, guest experience is a top priority for both us and our couples. One critical aspect of that experience, particularly if you are hosting family and friends who aren’t from the area, is where they’ll sleep! With vacation rentals popping up in the area and new hotels getting built, we’ve collected a handful of options within a close proximity- each with a different perk!

Hawthorne House has no association or liability with the recommended accommodations.

  1. If you’re looking for unique lodging just minutes from Hawthorne House this Airbnb listing is for you! With the option to rent all rooms (based on availability) or only the rooms you need you can host the entire wedding party, book a honeymoon sweet or suggest guests that have families to secure this adorable vacation rental. Location, location, location here! The loft is located within a couple minute drive of Hawthorne House but is on Main Street in Parkville meaning it is walkable to cute boutiques, delicious eateries and a wonderful park!

  2. You may remember a hotel block with a transportation partnership mentioned at the tour. The Courtyard Marriott at Briarcliff is the most popular hotel block with Hawthorne House couples getting married in Kansas City, MO and is 10 minutes away. They do offer a discounted shuttle service to guests staying at the hotel if you secure a room block with them. At the time of this writing, the shuttle can hold up to 35 guests, but has been a major benefit to those getting hitched onsite. You are able to determine how many trips you need to drop off your guests for the ceremony and can secure a safe ride home for them at the end of the night! (Psssst- remember cars CAN be left overnight too!)

  3. If you choose to secure a room block with the Marriott mentioned above, you may want to look into a second block at the TownPlace Suites by Marriott at Briarcliff, too! You can have more than one room block and these two locations are walkable to each other! The huge benefic of the TownPlace is that their rooms and amenities are overall larger. This is a great option if you have guests with families and if you’re planning on bringing your leftover catered food home their refrigerators are large enough to accommodate this!

  4. Are you looking for a hotel that is new and includes an indoor pool? The SpringHillSuites by Marriott Kansas City Airport is the option for you, then! The newest hotel on our list is located just south of Zona Rosa, a large outdoor shopping and eatery area. Zona Rosa would be a great spot to host your rehearsal dinner (54th Street Grill, Herford House, Bravo!, Granite City to name a few) and has easy access to the interstate and airport. Contrary to the name it is not at the airport, but is a quick 10 minute drive.

Once you’ve made your decision on the location to either host a room block or simply suggest to your guests it’s time to get the information added to your wedding website! If you established a room block the event representative through the hotel will likely give you a code for guests to say over the phone or a specific link to add to your wedding website that will let the booking representative know they should receive the discounted room rate. We also recommend adding the specific address and a photo of the front of the hotel to your wedding website as there are hundreds of “Courtyard Marriotts” and even a handful in Kansas City! To alleviate confusion, the more information you can provide the better to ensure your guests make their reservation at the correct location.

Happy planning!
