5 DATE NIGHT HOT SPOTS IN KANSAS CITY

Whether you’ve been engaged for five minutes or five months, taking a break from wedding planning can be soooooo needed. Maybe you’ve been married for five years and you want to try a new restaurant for a night out! Or maybe you’re like the hubs and I and go on a date night once a month and are looking for a new dig.

These five restaurants are places we have more than three-peated. We’ve done happy hour and special occasions; had just drinks or a full tasting menu!

Sorry I’m not sorry three out of the five are Italian restaurants #carbsoncarbs.

1.       Osteria IL Centro

This is a go-to spot for a romantic night out with great wine and a whole lot of carbs. Their goat cheese and garlic spread is a must. Whether it’s a fixed menu on New Years Eve or a regular Wednesday night out, Osteria is never a let down.

2.       North Italia

$20 bottle and a board NEED I SAY MORE. Twenty buckaroos gets you an entire bottle of wine and a rocking charcuterie board (or flatbread) which is a totally insane deal. If wine isn’t your thing, their margaritas and sangria is hard to beat. I’ve yet to order anything bad off their menu- pizza, pasta or entrée. The summer is the best time to go as their patio is adorable!

3.       Parlor

For the indecisive ones. Or the young ones. Or the ones who wanna feel young. Parlor has the best outdoor space out of all five options when it’s nice out and plenty of square footage- which comes in handy has almost any night of the week you can find it packed. I’ve tried to branch out but can’t seem to get enough of Mother Clucker and their What the Cluck Sauce (word to the wise- this is not for the faint hearted).

4.       Urban Table

If you’re into a the healthier stuff, this one’s for you. Also, if you’re into incredible happy hour deals this one rocks too. $5 wine can keep ya there for much longer than anticipated so snag the Dip Duo or Bruschetta if time gets away from you. On Tuesdays, Urban Table has a neat Date Night menu that is $16/person and let’s you choose sharable plates for a fun and laid back night out with your boo-thang!

5.       Lazia (in the Crossroads Hotel)

The atmosphere at Lazia is top notch. The melted wax candles covering the entire restaurant, the incredible staff and the killer menu all makes for a great night out. Their portions aren’t huge which is a plus in my eyes- I’d rather leave feeling pleasantly satisfied than overly stuffed. Bonus: they have Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley which is the best of the best- you’re welcome in advance.
